That balance is what maintains relationships. I remember my mom saying something about my step father whom she has been with ever since I was six weeks old. She was at her shop, and a customer's husband gave into something like a complete pussy, and my mother said "I'm glad (my step father) isn't like that. I don't want him to agree with me all the time.".

And it got me to thinking, my step father is a good man, always puts our family first, yet he isn't afraid to stand up to my mother and crack a few jokes on her from time to time, and I believe that's the secret to why they've been together for 25 years. Something to think about.
