Society in the last 50 years has come to make many men essentially wimps. And I don't mean that they arent otught in the sense o being able to fight or being weak. But wimps in their relationships with women. There are still many men who naturally don't get brainwashed by all this, and there are others who learn how to be their natural selves through reading. Good men do exist for you. They just are not easy to find. It’s just like in acrobatics or tricking. You can look up “Jujimufu” for more info on google. People who imitate what the accomplished do fall flat. Not because their technique is not up to par. Not because they forgot to follow through on their swing. But because they do not know WHY they are doing it. You spin to gain horizontal momentum. If anything, people should take away concepts and learn from that. How can we make this work for me? I don’t imitate. Let’s say I wanna be a tv host. Will I imitate all their quirks because that’s what a host does? No. I’ll analyze what they do, why they do it, and see if I can’t bring my own quirks. The only time you should invest in anything is to first analyze and take what you can. Just like you said. Kevin June 20, 2011 at 1:50 am · Reply Successful people imitate all the time. Look at Bill Gates. The Windows system is really the Apple OS interface. Steve Jobs got the Apple OS interface from a Xerox system. The Rolling Stones copied the Beatles. The Beatles copied the Everly Brothers and it goes on and on… I think the difference between absolute total imitation vs. a “version” of imitation or one’s own version is the objective. One might follow DeAngelo’s ideas and imitate him but maybe do it a bit differently. An adaption of an idea. Imitation happens all the time and its a good thing. For each person or company or what have you can adapt to make it their own. The Mustang begat the Camaro begat the Challenger begat the Firebird and so forth… Also on why guy follow gurus? Its simple. Its like a religion to people. Its filling a void, or thinking “yes this guy has the answer.” Very simple to see. When the The Game came out so many of us though, “he has the answer.” Again, very simple to see.
